Concentrated Extract of Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) in Maple Syrup
The tough and woody sclerotium of this mushroom is boiled in the maple sap during the syrup-making process, effectively extracting the water soluble constituents, including the valuable polysaccarides, into the finished maple syrup. So the resulting syrup is also a concentrated hot water extract, elegantly preserved with the maple sugars. This is an excellent tasting alternative to alcohol-preserved extracts. It is dark and rich, almost like molasses, and makes a great coffee substitute. A 4 oz bottle contains the extract of 30 grams of dried medicinal mushrooms.
